Le Saline Resort

This magnificent place overlooks the Ionian Sea. You can breathe the air of all those ancient peoples who reached this wonderful land. The whole stay was fantastic. A special thank you to Peppe (the lifeguard) who, with his kindness and friendliness, made our holiday more beautiful!

I have been at this resort several times with groups from New York & New Jersey. This is a fantastic resort right on the beach with crystal clear water. Service is family friendly & the food is typical Italian delicious ! The rooms are perfect. The pool is relaxing & the bar is always a big party ! This resort is the gem of southern Italy ! Hotel seems to be mostly used for weddings and other functions with beach tourism a distant second. Whenever there's a function the swimming pool and bar are unavailable to guests and there's obviously a noisy party going on under your windows. Not to mention occasional fireworks! Staff seem to consider this arrangement normal, if not preferable, being surprised you may not enjoy the experience. Staff also has poor to no English which makes following and figuring out some of the arcane rules difficult. There are also serious failings in ensuring health and safety of the guests with ladders being left close to the pool where kids could climb on them, unfinished building works at the pool bar again with children being able to roam close. The advertised lifeguard on the beach is rarely visible. Reception staff are unable to take even friendly criticism and suggestion without assuming a defensive mode and are prone to come close to shouting at you (which may be culturally acceptable way of communication in South Italy, but allowance should be made for international travellers). In short, it is hard to recommend this hotel if you want to have a smooth ride of your holiday.
