This has to be one of the great small Hotels of the world. Set up on the hilltop above St Remy and surrounded by stunning gardens. We arrived as a family of 6 on a Provence bike tour and the staff couldn’t help us enough despite the car park being full or Porsche, super hi end Audi and Range Rovers. The grounds are amazing , barely a leaf out of place and topiary gardens that you look over at breakfast are above and beyond. Good size deep pool. Expensive but you get what you pay for and it’s worth it.

We had a lovely and relaxing holiday here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is a charming small luxury retreat in the countryside. It’s a bit of a walk from the centre of Saint-Rémy, but the free shuttle service makes it easy to get around. The swimming pool was quiet, clean, and a perfect place to unwind. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful stay in Provence!

We stayed at Le Vallon de Valrugues Hotel Spa & Villas, which is officially a 5-star hotel, but honestly, it feels more like a 3-star experience. The service was generally good, but nothing exceptional — simply what you’d expect from a hotel in this category. The facilities were decent, although the hotel feels a bit outdated. The carpets and lamps look like they’re from another era, and the AC unit in our room hadn’t been cleaned in what seemed like years. Some details felt neglected, which was disappointing for a 5-star property. The real issue came after we checked out. The hotel correctly charged us for the full amount at checkout. However, two days later, we noticed the same amount had been charged again. When we contacted the hotel, they dismissed it as a bank error and showed no willingness to investigate. Naturally, I checked with my bank, and they confirmed the problem was on the hotel’s side. It took several days to get the duplicate charge refunded, and throughout that time, the hotel’s communication was nonexistent. They showed no interest in resolving the issue or even following up. For a hotel that claims to be five stars, this level of service and attention to detail — both during and after the stay — was far from what we expected.
