Location + staff: +++++ Value for money: ++++++ The showers are hot and powerful, the breakfast is good (and nice at the rooftop terrace), AC in the room + powerplug, light and huge locker next to every bed, you can use the fridge upstairs and the location is just outstanding. Very close to the beach and a lot of great places for diner and drinks. Safe to walk around the hostel during the night, and the supermarket right across the street (open 24/7) is also a huge plus. Can recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Rio (especially for first timers or solo (female) travelers). This place is very safe and a good base. The staff is very friendly :) When I was there, there were not so many other travelers. If you want to meet other people, join a (walking) tour or a pub crawl.

Brand new, clean and comfortable property with excellent staff. Beach is 5 min walk away and the area is safe, full of restaurants, bars, shops. Front desk speaks perfect English and they do their best to make your stay enjoyable. Fernanda is treating you like a family member. She ensures you have the best stay in Rio. I’ll definitely visit them again.

Don't let the nice pictures displayed at their website lure you. The rooms walls and bed-sheets look all old. The bathroom door did not have any lock and the shower's box was rusty. I would not recommend it to my friends. The only one convenience is the location.
