Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa

I had such a great stay at the Legacy Resort & Spa in San Diego. The location is perfect — right in Mission Valley so you’re close to everything (Balboa Park, the beach, downtown). Super convenient whether you want to explore or just hang by the pool. The rooms are modern, spotless, and super comfy — I slept like a rock. The spa and pool are definitely the highlights though. Between the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and the resort-style pool with cabanas, it’s easy to just relax and forget about everything else. Food was another win — the on-site restaurants are way better than your average hotel dining. Theresa’s (the steakhouse) was amazing, and the service all around was warm and attentive. Every staff interaction I had felt genuine, which makes such a difference. Honestly, it felt like the perfect mix of luxury and laid-back. I left feeling recharged and would 100% come back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a San Diego getaway.

We had to switch hotels after our first night’s stay elsewhere which was highly rated (but was awful). Legacy kept showing up as an option early on and at a great price that I thought it couldn’t be real. It ended up costing less staying at the Legacy for an experience, cleanliness and customer service that was 1000x better than the Marriott we had to abandon. The sweetest lady, Kaci?, was so kind and helpful. She even checked in with me the next morning about my stay which was exceptional customer service! The room was perfect, clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were comfortable and you couldn’t hear the room next door to yours. The ac was central and very accommodating and not a swamp cooler in the window like the Marriott.. the pool and gym looked serene and so well kept. Beautiful lobby area and the restaurant on site looked lovely although we didn’t have time to visit and try it! Would definitely book here again if we stay in this area again! Thank you!

The hotel lobby is clean and looks nice, but my overall experience was disappointing. The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. I asked for extra towels twice and never received them. There is no ice machine available, if you want ice, you have to ask for it. The room didn’t have a pen, and there’s no laundry service at the hotel, which was inconvenient. There’s also no microwave in the room, and the TV is outdated. It’s 2025, but they still don’t have smart TVs, so you can’t stream Netflix or other apps. If you want to rent a movie, it costs $16.99, which is very expensive. The towels were rough and felt old they actually irritated my skin. I also had to put the decorative pillow on the floor to sleep comfortably, and the housekeeping staff left it on the floor the next day instead of putting it back. The room itself didn’t feel very clean. Overall, the hotel is just okay, not worth the high price. Also, parking costs $35 per day, which adds up quickly.
