Leonardo Boutique Hotel Düsseldorf

I stayed at the hotel for work for about 10 days, food was good and staff were very friendly and very nice, receptionist Stella was super helpful. Sometimes Internet was going off and gym needs to be improved for sure. Overall I had a pleasant stay :)

I had booked a stay at this hotel with my parents. Tragically, my father suffered a fatal accident during a trip, and I reached out to request a refund or even a partial gesture of goodwill under the circumstances. I received a flat refusal — no flexibility, no compassion, no support. In a time of profound shock and grief, this response felt deeply cold and transactional. While I understand policies exist, how a company chooses to respond in moments like this says everything about its values. If this is the standard of care and human understanding offered by this hotel chain, I sadly cannot recommend staying here.

DO NOT STAY HERE IN WARM WEATHER... or any weather. The air conditioning is broken (and from previous reviews seems to have been for a while) The rooms are like saunas and the staff dont care. We complained on the first night regarding the heat and the man on receptions reply was to shrug and say 'open a window'. Given our room faced a busy street we couldn't get any sleep with a window open. Having communicated previously with the property on the booking.com app I used this to ask if we could get a refund or move hotels and was promptly ignored for the remainder of the 3 nights we stayed, not even a reply to help us in any way. We asked for a fan for the room the next day but this barely helped. The rooms themselves were tiny and look nothing like the website. We found bottles under the bed from previous guests and one of the bedside tables was missing for some reason. The decor is also scabby and dirty. The showers in the bathrooms were extremely small and the temperature went from cold to hot constantly. Instead of enjoying our stay, we ended up counting down the days until we were home so we could get a decent night's sleep. Funnily the decor in the common areas was lovely so not sure why they just haven't put any money into the areas where guests actually sleep. Location was great, but so are many other hotels in the area. Do yourself a favour and stay there and not here. Cheers Leonardo for ruining my holiday to Dusseldorf!
