Leonardo Hotel and Conference Venue Hinckley Island

We'd never have thought of this as a hotel within reach of Birmingham Airport until our flight got cancelled. So I can tell you that it is just off junction 1 of the M69, has lots of parking too. It's around 25' from Birmingham Airport. The staff are very good, very helpful. It is a big hotel, I felt, judging by how far rooms were from reception and it clearly does big conferences. There's a style to the place too - the central staircase area is an eye-catcher, like you'd get on cruise ships. There's also a Triumph motorbike theme in the bar area which is quite unique too. The food - until 9:30pm is very good, I found, with a varied menu. The larger restaurant to the left of reception we used for breakfast which was also good with lots of choice. So, yes, I do rate it and you might want to try it too.

We liked: Easy access location with ample free parking. Spacious room, comfortable bed with plenty of cushions. Abundant breakfast served until 11am. Friendly personnel, especially the young blonde lady at the reception (sorry, we forgot the name!). Gym well-equipped for different workouts. We did not like so much: We know this is British style but... wall-to-wall carpets everywhere gives the place a gloomy look and stuffy air. Plus, there is no AC in the room and you cannot open the window more than an inch. Fortunately, during our early August visit the weather was not particularly warm (typical British summer) so we could manage by opening the window as much as was possible. But I'm afraid I could not recommend this hotel for warm summer days. Overall, very good value for money.

The Leonardo island hotel is a fantastic place to stay. Very friendly staff exceptionally clean very big rooms. Food was fantastic even though not alot of choice. Could do with some fruit on the desert menu. Toilets are a distance away from restaurant. But would definitely stay again
