Location of the hotel is convenient. Very nice check in at the reception. The price was a bit high without breakfast, but it is Cork. Parking near the hotel is pretty hard, few public parking paid places behind it. Good night sleep, but very noisy early on the morning somewhere nearby. Cleanliness could have been better.

This hotel is 80% facade, 10% service, 10% room. I have stayed at 4-star hotels across Europe, and the only thing this place has in common with those is the pricing. The walls are paper thin, you will hear your neighbors whenever they close a door or speak above a whisper. There is no conditioner or wash cloths in the bath; cheap shampoo and shower gel, but only small and large towels and no conditioner to be found. The water temp fluctuates between lukewarm and hot, unless you turn the temp to max, in which case you will boil. I had no scent issues with the linens, thankfully. No chocolates or water in the room, and 3€ for a small bottle of coke from the vending machines. (There is an Aldi about 3min walk south, though.) The wifi is consistently slow and my phone has issues reconnecting everytime I come back (Galaxy 22). The "check-in at 3pm" (15:00) is more of a guideline. If you want to watch 5 Irish families check in to their rooms while you (a foreigner) wait in the lobby for no reason, this is the place for you. I also sincerely doubt there are king beds, and the doubles cannot be moved together. They do not have air conditioning, but it is Cork (it's mid-July now with a high of 19C/70F, not a big issue). It is a beautiful facade and location, though. The owners 100% refaced an old apartment complex and did nothing to the rooms. If only they put the work into the rooms that they put into making the common areas look pretty...

Would not call this place a 4-star hotel by any stretch. Rooms and common spaces were very outdated. Bathroom smelled a bit, shower felt dirty with very dirty shower curtain. Beds were comfortable enough, but definitely not for a 4-star rated hotel. No Air Conditioning and it was a very hot night - fan was provided but barely worked on the highest level and did not rotate, so only one person could have it on them. There was barely any space for one piece of luggage, never mind for two people staying. No where to conveniently open a suitcase - had to be opened underneath the desk. Shocked at how this would be considered a 4-star hotel. I’ve spent the last month staying in a variety of 3- to 4-star hotels in Europe and this didn’t come close to a single one I’ve stayed at.
