I stayed here for two days and really enjoyed the experience. While the hotel is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, its peaceful location right on the banks of the River Tyne makes up for it. It’s easily accessible by public transport, and the views are lovely. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff were welcoming and professional throughout my stay. A great choice if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable stay not far from Newcastle’s key attractions.
This is my fifth visit and now for my long overdue review following my stay in April. Had a brilliant stay at the Leonardo Hotel recently. From the moment I checked in, I was made to feel incredibly welcome—Charlotte on reception was especially helpful and managed to secure me a quiet room. She was warm, professional, and a really good example of outstanding customer service which makes for a great first impression. Definitely someone who makes a difference to the guest experience. The breakfast was spot on, with loads of tasty options to choose from. I also had a few meals in the restaurant during my stay and was impressed with both the food and drink choices. The overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing, helped by the amazing views from the hotel. The only slight downsides were the key card—if it ends up next to your phone or keys, it can stop working, which happened to me a couple of times. It’s a bit annoying when you’re carrying takeaway and have to go back to reception. Also, if the hotel car park is full, you’ll need to use the public one nearby, which isn’t free. Aside from that, everything else was top-notch. I’ll definitely be back and would happily recommend it to anyone!
A friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival set a nice tone for the stay. The room itself was fairly standard—clean and functional, but nothing particularly memorable or standout. Nothing to really make me want to eat an evening meal, poor vegetarian choices. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good selection and decent quality. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. It’s not a hotel that wowed me, but there was nothing to fault either. A solid, no-fuss choice for a night in Newcastle.
