Leones de Alba Hotel Boutique

We had a wonderful experience at Leones De Alba. The hotel was centrally located in the Old City of Cartagena, and walking distance to local landmarks, museums, plazas and delicious restaurants. The proximity was our favorite part since it was convenient enough for us to come in and out throughout the day. The area was extremely safe and the hotel staff were incredible at giving recommendations and making us feel welcome. Juan was our main point of contact for the duration of the trip and he was so helpful and kind since the moment we arrived. The customer service was great and they were willing to answer any and all questions. The staff is bilingual and comfortable in both Spanish and English. The hotel is stunning with a pool in the center, as well as a roof top terrace that we were able to access 24/7. Breakfast was served every morning, and was fresh & delicious. The only thing I would not recommend is their romantic dinner, we didn’t find the food too tasty compared to the restaurants in the area, which were incredible. Overall, I would stay here again when visiting Cartagena!

Every individual we encountered from The Alba group was truly incredible. Each person went above and beyond to ensure our trip was not only enjoyable but extraordinary. We felt like we had our own private concierge group. From Johann's assistance with booking our trip to Pablo's invaluable recommendations for restaurants, activities, and New Year's Eve celebrations, your team's dedication was evident. The private boat trip to the Rosario Islands and the delightful lunch at Pao Pao were highlights that we'll always cherish. The golf at the beautiful Karibana Cartagena Golf was nothing but unforgettable. Everyone at Leones de Alba was committed to providing the highest level of quality and service, tailoring our stay to perfection. The hotel itself, with its charm and character, is beautifully situated in Cartagena, close to all the attractions the old city has to offer. Thank you Pablo, Laura, Juan Pablo and all the entire Leones de Alba group for making our trip so memorable. We will see you again!

Pros: Service from Thomas, Carlos and Keyla was exceptional. They were kind and attentive. All concerns raised were promptly and satisfactorily addressed. Rooms were refreshed daily. Very good location to walk and see nearby attractions. Felt safe even with all of the street vendors nearby. Convenient to airport. Some rooms were sizable and had balconies. Safe in room. Mini fridge in room with limited drink options for purchase. Air conditioning in the rooms (not in the corridors).The "pool" on the rooftop is heated. Cons: amenities in the hotel were lacking (no lobby, no gym, tiny dipping pool(s)). Paper thin walls (you will hear everything, even the shower or a conversation next door). As the hotel sits on a busy intersection, it can be hard to sleep with the commotion lasting most of the night. Decor and toiletries need to be updated (threadbare towels, stinky soaps, old and stained couches and cushions). Some of the room door locks did not lock or work (safety concern). Limited lounging and dresser space due to the irregular shaped rooms. Limited counter space in bathrooms. Hot water takes a while to warm up. Tiny pools; the images posted by the hotel are greatly distorted. Prices are high. Note: We rented the entire hotel for a group and it worked well for that purpose. I would not stay at this property if I only had a single room.
