Relaxing City Break with a Lively View – Loved Our Room in the End! We booked a last-minute getaway directly through the hotel’s website and were pleased to receive a few perks — a 5% discount and late checkout, which was a nice touch. On arrival, we were given one of the mezzanine deluxe rooms at the front of the building. While the layout was interesting, with the bedroom on an upper level (and what seemed to be a connecting door), it felt quite austere and lacked a proper window view from the bed area. The downstairs space had a sofa, TV and bathroom, but overall it wasn’t the relaxing space we’d hoped for — especially as we enjoy spending time in the room when away, not just using it as somewhere to sleep. I spoke to reception to see if there was an alternative, and they kindly offered us a different room — with a caveat that it overlooked the square at the back of the hotel, which can be noisy until around 2am at weekends due to nearby bars and restaurants. We took the room and loved it! It was a spacious fourth-floor room flooded with sunshine, overlooking a vibrant square with a great atmosphere — live Cuban music, people dining, and a real sense of life happening just below. It may not suit everyone, but we found it uplifting and energising. We even enjoyed hearing live music during the day from our room. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection. The breakfast room is fairly small given the size of the hotel, but turnover was quick and we never had to wait long for a table. The bed was very comfy, the room was well appointed, and all staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and accommodating. All in all, once we moved rooms, we had a brilliant stay. We’d happily return and would even request the same room again — perfect if you’re after a city break with character and energy right outside your window!

Great location in the heart of the city in a handsome historic stone building. It used to be a school. It's been carefully converted. It backs on to Leopold Square which has restaurants and bars, and puts on live music at weekends daytime and early evening. Although the streets were quite noisy through the night the glazing is very good and we were not disturbed in the slightest and slept soundly through Friday and Saturday nights. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast buffet very good.

I recently stayed at the Leopold Hotel in Sheffield and had an absolutely lovely experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making check-in quick and hassle-free. The building itself is full of character and charm, with its beautifully restored historic features blending seamlessly with modern comfort. My room was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable – the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring the city. The bed was especially cosy, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the tea and coffee facilities and quality toiletries. The hotel’s location is fantastic – right in the heart of Sheffield, close to excellent shops, restaurants, and attractions, yet it still felt peaceful and relaxing. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Leopold Hotel to anyone visiting Sheffield. I’ll definitely be back!
