L'Ermitage Hôtel Cuisine à Manger

The hotel is located in the area of Mont d’Or just 20 min by car to the city center of Lyon. From the hotel it is possible to have a fantastic view over Lyon. The room was really clean and comfortable. The design of the room is very simple but nice. The hotel needs some maintenance around, but everything was working well. The staff is friendly and ready to support or to answer messages. I really appreciate the fact they offer fresh orange juice for breakfast and that they do not use plastic in the room.

Nice and quiet hotel in a superb spot with great staff but rooms (at least mine #31) needs a serious refresh. Service was good and the food excellent. The only drawback was the room. It smelled a bit, and they were a lot of little details to be addressed from the absence of a proper hanging closet for clothes, the falling toilet paper handle, to the ants by the window, to the lights blasting brightness right in front of the bed, to the paint stains on the wall and on the electrical cable of the bedside sconces. Nothing really bad but I feel we could have expected more from a 4-star hotel. Hotel is about 25-30 minutes from the center of Lyon and Ubers take about 10-15 to get there I would only recommend it if you have a vehicle.

We stayed here for 3 nights, there were no room service coming to our room to clean. When we checked out, I’ve asked the reception if there were any room service coming and she said yes… this was not true because we had tea in our room in the first day and the dirty cups stayed there until the check out, they didn’t add any tea or coffee, they didn’t change the towels. Also, when we were trying to go back to the hotel every evening and collect our keys, no receptionist were there and every time we waited for more than 5 mins. Very disappointed and didn’t enjoy the stay.
