I took the time to think it through before writing this review. I really wanted to love this hotel, and I think that in the end, I do. Beautiful room, beautiful terrace with a private pool, all very spacious and visually delicious. Functionally speaking, there were evident gaps, nothing dramatic but clearly presentation was the prime factor in this setup. The bed was a double, which is weird for a room this size, where a king could fit twice side-by-side. My feet were dangling off the end, and I came close to falling off many times, as I was worried about squishing my significant other. The pullout couch is a king, but we never opened it. No reason to make our back issues any worse. The shower looks splendid before you realize that there's no way to use it without flooding the entire bathroom. Small things. But the best, absolutely best part is the terrace/balcony with the private pool, dining table, loungers, and all. For the record, we had the larger room type, I understand that we also had the bigger terrace & pool. The view was breathtaking with obstruction-free sunsets, pretty boats, pelicans, hummingbirds, and all the rest. The small pool was perfect to cool down after our many hikes. Downsides to know of, besides the non functional aspects mentioned above: firstly there's nothing much around. The restaurant down by the beach is awful, so I'll count that as part of "nothing around". Franco's BBQ is closest by foot, maybe a 5 min walk. Then there's the Coeur de Pigeon pizza, another 5 down the road. Both great places, but you have to get there. There's a sidewalk all the way to both of those. Driving there presents two issues: no punch for you, and parking is going to be, um, French-style? Bring your ugly car. Also, the premises gave off a desertic feel, which is both somewhat depressing and weird on an island where you have tropical forest growing. But this is mostly irrelevant, as you don't spend any time there, other than getting to your door. On the deck, wear your flipflops, lest you get massive splinters from the teak flooring that's been abused here and there, resulting in fibers lifting up. Bring a screwdriver too, to repair the umbrella that's not in best of shapes and missing a few screws, but at least it's there. Their internet is terrible, worst I've seen in years. You'll get your emails. That's about it. But who cares, you have all the rest, One thing that I really considered before deciding to talk about here is the front desk service. Let's call it "variable", depending on who handles you. I think management should introduce the usage of checklists, and some basic courtesy training. Again, it was only one individual who spoiled the experience, but since it happened on arrival, after a long flight and drive, it's not something you want to deal with. The room service, on the other hand, was spot on, never missed a beat, and we never saw them. Perfect. Would I go back? Yes.

This is a hotel you have to go to. It's a new concept: lodges with a pool with is smaller or bigger (it's the kind of chamber which defines the size) and a great view of Bouillante. It's cosy simple efficient and very calm in the nature. It's definitely the best way to disconnect and rest. The staff is so kind and helpful (that's very rare in the region). The only thing I have to say is the wifi isn't working at all and that's a shame but this oblige us resting simply and living the life at the moment and not on social media. The food is creative it's a genius Melting of our Caribbean food and modern food with some very bold association. I love the breakfast it's perfect the taste is really good and you can see it's fresh. I love the fact of bringing breakfast to my chamber and eating seeing this Wonderful landscape. If you come in the area, take this spot for it! You will be immediately in love
