Les Jardins du Marais

Slightly worried after seeing some very Negative reviews, but we had an amazing stay. The Hotel was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, the room was great and the breakfast was lovely. As a family of 3, we could not have enjoyed our stay more and would thoroughly recommend, I didn’t hear anything negative from other guests. Keep up the good work Les Jardins Du Marais, a hidden gem of a hotel in a fantastic City. Thank you to all your staff

I was happily surprised with this hotel. The service was top notch. Breakfast included was top notch. All our needs were quickly addressed. Henrique at the front desk was superb. He listened and quickly resolved anything that was needing attention. Also, Romain who took care of us at checkout was quick & very helpful. This hotel is a real gem.

I never leave reviews and generally am a very low - key traveler. However this was a hotel I was really looking forward to for three nights during my paris vacation and was eagerly anticipating my stay! I had booked a jr suite. My room was not up to jr suite, 4 star hotel standards at all. It did not look anything like the photos online, was cramped, with a hot plate but literally no cooking/plates/glasses/utensils anything to use (and was never brought any), no bottled waters or glasses to drink the tap water, the bed was just in the room with the other bed, which was different from the photos online where there was a separate area for the second bed with a nice entrance way. There also was no turn down service, no waters, chocolates, etc that I would come to expect from a 4 star hotel, especially being in a suite. Our first night, my friend and I were in the courtyard when a man wearing a blazer came up to us and said that he was security, asked us where we were from, etc. 20 minutes later he came up to tell us that "a husband and wife were having sex two cabanas down" from us in the courtyard and we should come watch. As we listened, we heard two people making very loud sexual noises right next to us in the courtyard. As he told us he was security, we told him that he should remove them from the hotel, or at least make them stop having sexual intercourse in a public place. He laughed and told us we needed to see them, and grabbed my friends arm as we were getting up. As we were very uncomfortable with the entire situation we left and went to our room passing the people having sex. The next day I spoke to the front desk and informed them that I was very unhappy with my room, as it definitely did not live up to the photos on the website nor 4 star expectations. They were very gracious and did find me another room. However, when I said that I wanted to speak to someone in management or security about having people have sex next to us in the courtyard ostensibly sanctioned by their security guard, they informed me that that they have no security guards and there was no manager to available to speak to, but I could try again the next day. When I went to the new room it was nice, but there was a welcome card for someone else there, along with some bottled waters (why were there none in my previous room?). There were two glasses, but no other utensils etc if we even wanted to use any of the kitchen amenities (why have a dishwasher in the room if you are not going to provide any glasses/dishes!). There were no bathrobes (which were mentioned in other reviews) or any of the other things one would expect from 4 stars (and over 400 dollars a night!) Upon check out the next day, I again asked if I could speak to a manager about what had happened to my friend and I in the courtyard, if only to prevent that from happening again! It was quite disturbing to be eating some chips in the (lovely!) courtyard and be forced to hear and see people having sex next to us in the courtyard! I was told the manager was aware but again was not there. Upon checking out I was asked if I had a "good stay" to which I said "no". There was no any other questions or further enquiry. In short, our stay was not nearly up to a 4 star hotel, especially one in which I had a jr suite! From the terrible room at the start, to the people having sex in the courtyard to which no one seemed to care or take concern with our complaints, to the lack of any sort of amenities in the rooms - I was extremely disappointed and will be discouraging anyone from staying here in the future. I gave it 2 stars because the courtyard was lovely, and we didn't die or having anything stolen, I guess.
