We only ate at the restaurant which left a lot to be desired. We ate 2 courses but went to a kebab place afterwards. Dessert was just a Brie on a platter which seems very low effort. Main course was good. The bill was wrong when we got it.
I’m going to cut to the chase. 24 hours after leaving room 202 of this hotel, my partner and I found multiple lesions on our limbs and torsos. He had about 25, and I had 5-10. These were consistent with images online of bedbug bites. Neither of us had any sign of these lesions before visiting the hotel, and after about a week they disappeared. Of course we immediately washed and steamed everything we had taken into the hotel, and I threw out the Patagonia bag I had brought there (now replaced for €150). I immediately alerted the hotel by email, pointing them to the strong possibility that the room was infested, and still several weeks later I have not received a reply. For this reason I feel compelled to share this experience here, as the hotel seems not to have investigated the situation, or taken any action to address this potential problem which can be off-putting and very expensive to deal with. Otherwise, the welcome at this hotel was warm, and check-in was speedy. And it is very well located in the town. The room and bathroom were comfortable— I just wish we had inspected the mattress. The hotel itself felt dated, with a decor that was very specific to the late 2000s, early 2010s. The feeling about the place was pre-season. For example, the pool was empty of water and leaves had accumulated at the bottom. I obviously can’t recommend this hotel. Such things happen, but there is no excuse for their lack of response. They should have replied immediately explaining the findings of their investigation, the countermeasures they planned to take, and of course to compensate us for the distress and expense.
We were very disappointed with our stay in this hotel. There was a noise (similar to a ventilator working) in the room through the whole night so we didn’t sleep the first night. The noise was apparently coming from the swimming pool or sauna. The water in the swimming pool was too cold such that I got sick, the hotel’s corridors were cold too so walking back in the room in the wet swimsuit was impossible (we were there in December). Also the water in the shower was not too hot and we needed to wait for at least five minutes to have warm water. Finally, the service at the breakfast was extremely poor, we needed to ask a couple of times for clean bowls, more food/drinks, and there were no veggies and fruits. After we complained about the above, the hotel manager was supposed to write to us but never did. We are very disappointed and would not recommend staying in this hotel to anyone.
