Levels Unawatuna

We visited this lovely place on 10 August with my wife’s classmates — around 16 members — to spend the day. We had a fantastic time with the wonderful team at Levels Hotel, and this is what true hospitality looks like. The secret is great leadership — from the manager to the lifeguard, everyone was professional and provided excellent service, even for our small requests. Special appreciation goes to the front office staff, Oshini and her assistant, for their warm and friendly assistance. This place feels like a small palace situated on the beautiful Rumassala Mountain. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is absolutely mouth-watering. We will definitely be coming back very soon!

This is my second night at Levels Unawatuna, and I have to say, the experience has been wonderful so far. The manager and staff are very attentive, frequently checking in to ensure our stay is comfortable. They genuinely put effort into providing the best service possible. Before coming here, I saw some negative feedback about the hotel, but based on my experience, I can confidently say that there are no issues with this property. The breakfast, in particular, is absolutely perfect – delicious and well-prepared. I’m really enjoying my stay and would recommend Levels Unawatuna to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant getaway.

No sea view from the property despite being on the seaside. Roads are dimly lit and isolated at night—not ideal for walking without a vehicle after 7 PM. A bit offbeat and away from central town activity. 🛏️ Rooms – 9/10 Very spacious and comfortable rooms. A/C present, though at fixed speeds. Providing fans will be great due to humid region. Clean and well-maintained interiors. 🍽️ Food & Dining – 7/10 Friendly staff who catered specially to vegetarian needs by preparing Jeera Rice and Dal Fry. Menu is largely Western/European-focused, very limited pure veg/vegan options. Menu variety and veg inclusivity could be improved. 💁 Service – 7/10 Staff was helpful and responsive. Drinking water is chargeable, which feels inconvenient. Installing an R.O. water facility would improve guest comfort. 🧹 Cleanliness & Hygiene – 7/10 Rooms were neat and tidy. General cleanliness was satisfactory. 🏨 Facilities & Amenities – 7/10 Nice swimming pool with a pleasant view. Basic amenities are in place but not extensive. 💵 Value for Money – 5/10 On the costlier side compared to similar hotels in the area. Pricing doesn't fully reflect the location or offerings. 🙋 Staff – 10/10 Staff were extremely cooperative, welcoming, and attentive. Added value to the stay through personal hospitality. 🌟 Overall Experience – 8/10 A comfortable and peaceful stay, especially suited for those seeking a quiet, offbeat vibe. Recommended for couples or solo travelers with a vehicle. Could improve by enhancing veg food options and water policies.
