Lovely afternoon lunch. Food good, location great, but service was brilliant. Faith was our server and looked after us perfectly. Just the right amount of attention, so nit intrusive and we didn't want for anything. She is an asset and we will be back...
Fantastic hotel..consistently helpful and professional staff. Always attentive to your needs. Breakfast excellent..either buffet or a la Carte. Bar food and restaurant evening meals of a high standard. Location is superb..overlooking St Brelade's Bay..idyllic..peaceful..relaxing..just listening to and watching the waves. Swimming pool clean and enjoyable.
Having stayed at several Hand Picked Hotels, I expected L’Horizon to meet a certain standard. Instead, it turned out to be the worst value of them all... a deeply disappointing, overpriced experience dressed up as luxury. We paid over £400 a night for a room that was simply not acceptable. It smelled strongly of mould, felt damp and unkempt, and the balcony was rusted and crumbling, with peeling paint and decaying fixtures. This wasn’t just a tired room... it was borderline neglectful. Charging premium rates for this standard is laughable. The food was equally disappointing. Overpriced, tiny portions that looked the part but completely lacked flavour. After multiple dismal meals, we gave up and went next door to the Beach Club Restaurant... where the food was far better, much more satisfying, and half the price. That contrast said it all. What was especially galling was the attempt to cut costs in ways that cheapen the experience. Instead of providing bottled water in the rooms... something you’d reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel... they filled up glass bottles with tap water. I’ve stayed in 2-star hotels that at least offer complimentary bottled water. At these prices, it’s insulting. The only real saving graces of our stay were the location and the view from the balcony in the morning....genuinely beautiful and serene. But even that couldn’t make up for how sub-par the rest of the experience was. Greg and Yannis, the porters, were also fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and professional. Their service stood in stark contrast to everything else. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this hotel closes or gets redeveloped soon. Rumors suggest developers are circling, and frankly, it’s overdue. The hotel is living on a reputation it no longer earns. It’s telling that General Manager Thomas Burford and Deputy GM Tomas Nadassky both left for a better-run hotel nearby. They clearly knew L’Horizon was sinking. L’Horizon? A total waste of money. There are much better places to stay in Jersey — better value, better run, and actually worth what you pay for.
