Just spent 10 days traveling all over Europe, and this was probably the best hotel we stayed at for a few reasons. Check in was smooth and easy - I did online check in on my phone the night before, and our room was ready at 11 AM! Our room was spacious and charming, with windows that opened up to a great little view. Bathroom shower pressure was strong, bed was comfortable, and a booklet outlining recommended bars and restaurants was key. This hotel was a 10-15 minute uber ride from the train station, however, this location was key as it was tucked away from the chaos of the city center. Located on a cobblestone corner, it was like entering another world. To top it all off, there is laundry in the hotel (if you are backpacking thru Europe, this is huge!!). Would highly recommend the local restaurants (try the Apple Wine), and bars at night right outside the hotel. Fair warning - it does get loud at night - if you are sensitive to this, you may find it disturbing. 10/10 will return!

The vegan breakfast was DELICIOUS, particularly the croissants (we don’t normally eat vegan, btw). We had a quiet room on a high level in the side of the hotel that is away from the street and heard nothing all night. The location was fantastic for walking along the river, sightseeing in the old area near cathedral, and finding dinner nearby. Fabulous little hotel.

The rooms at Libertine Lindenberg are small but cute and pretty comfortable. Overall, I thought it was a decent value for the price, but a few words of warning: -Noise: as some reviews have stated, you do hear a decent amount of noise from the bars outside. That didn’t really bother us as it wasn’t all that loud, but if you’re a light sleeper it might bother you. -Staffing: there’s essentially no staff here. It’s entirely possible to check yourself in and out without coming across a human being who works for the hotel, so if something goes wrong, you’re essentially on your own. -Security: the building has very lax security. You don’t need a hotel key to use the elevator and the front door is always open, so just about anyone can walk in off the street and access any floor without a problem. -Parking: if you’re arriving by car, be very careful — the signs outside are really confusing, and our car wound up getting towed. And because of the aforementioned lack of staffing at the hotel, there’s no one on site to tell you where you can and can’t park. Use a “parkplatz” nearby.
