Lidea Hotel – A True Gem on Kythira We had a wonderful stay at Lidea Hotel! Its location is ideal — right on the edge of the village, which made it super convenient to set off and explore the island in any direction. The cleanliness was absolutely top-notch, truly legendary. The family running the hotel (parents and son) were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready with spot-on local tips and honest recommendations that really elevated our experience on the island. While the breakfast was simple, it had all the traditional elements you’d hope for and more than enough to start your day satisfied. The whole place has a peaceful, quiet vibe, and the layout of the rooms offers plenty of privacy. It was the perfect base for a relaxing yet adventurous stay on Kythira. Highly recommended!

Staying at Lidea was truly one of the highlights of our time on Kythera. This family-run boutique hotel, led by the wonderful Dimitris and Maria along with their son Manolis, offers a kind of hospitality that is becoming all too rare — heartfelt, genuine, and deeply sincere. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with authentic smiles and a constant eagerness to help. Their care and attention felt more like visiting family than staying at a hotel. They truly epitomise the spirit of Greek filoxenia. As a young family travelling with a baby, we were especially touched by how warmly they hosted us. They were incredibly tender and affectionate toward our daughter — always ready with a kind word, a gentle gesture, or a warm smile. It made us feel completely at home and deeply cared for. The apartments themselves are beautifully renovated — spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed — while still maintaining a sense of calm and comfort. A homely, light breakfast is on offer each morning that set the perfect tone for the day. Dimitris, Maria, and Manolis are a rare kind of hosts. Their sincere warmth and generous spirit left a lasting impression on us, and their hospitality was a huge part of why we enjoyed Kythera so much. We truly can’t wait to return.

One of our best holiday experience! The hotel has everything you need to enjoy Kythira but there are much more. It was built and run by a family who treats the guest like their own family member. Every little detail has a purpose and everything is designed and run perfectly well. Hospitality, kindness and cleanliness is beyond any expectation. Everything is very well taken care. Beautiful garden, spacious room, excellent breakfast with a small variation every day. They even have their own generator to cover the quite frequent power cuts of the area. There is also water pressurizer which I have never seen in any island hotel at all. How forward thinking! All the tips and information were very useful and it was nice to hear also some personal and historical stories of the island.
