Lindóya Hotel

I had some trouble in Cataloa, i had my phones and my credit cards stolen..I had no money, no cantacts and no one to help me I ended up in hosptal for my injurys. When I was being discharged my doctor recommended the Lindoya, at this stage I had gotten in touch with my family and asked them to book me a room online. I was pretty down, feeling lost, alone and worried but the staff were amazing. They gave me money out of their own pockets for food and cigarettes, they let me use the hotel phone as often as i liked to ring ireland and england. They offered me their account details so my family could transfer money for me and they would withdraw cash. On the second evening, one of the girls came back to the hotel an hour after finishing her shift with churasco for me.. I was blown away by her kindness, haviing already spend the day trying to help me with my financial troubles And to top it all, by chance, at reception today the owners daughter, who was literally passing through to say hi and speaks english, saw I was struggling with my basic portugese to the girls, and asked could she help. before I knew it she had me in her car and brought me on tour of the city. Later she introduced me to her parents, her father, an elderly gentleman who needed the help of a walking stick to come and greet me, spoke no english but whispered in his daughters ear if I was ok for money. He then took 100 rais out of his shirt pocket and gave it to me for food. I didnt know what to say. I still dont. Ive been to brasil many times, met some amazing people, but here in cataloa ive been taken in and loved as one of their own. Ill never forget the kindness shown to me by the staff and family owners of the Lindoyia. This is what hotels should be about. oh yeah, the place is also beautiful and clean. lol
