Great in service, food, room and facility. Staff are very friendly and nice. Hot spring with very good view. Highly recommend!

Approaching through the rather industrial town of Tarumizu we were apprehensive. The exterior of hotel is also uninspiring. But it's recently been renovated inside and the rooms were large, modern and comfortable. For once in Japan we had two pillows. The in room semi open air bath has genuine spring water, you can feel the high PH, i.e., it's slippery and smells faintly metallic. It's not really even semi open air. It's enclosed but you can open a window. There is a traditional wash station as well. Their is a large top floor onsens as well. There's men's and women's that rotate and have sakurajima views. The food was great as well.

A nice hotel, but honestly, I was expecting a bit more for 9800 yen. True, the onsen bath was very nice ... pH 9 water was silky smooth and very comfortable, and the soaps/conditioners were of very high quality, not the usual bottom shelf junk that's all too common at public baths. And the room itself was great -- comfortable bed, very clean, nice decor, etc. Sadly, the breakfast was shabby and mostly gone by the time I arrived to eat... at 7:20am. I was expecting to be impressed given the nightly rate and the fact there was nowhere to eat in the immediate area... and left feeling like I'd been borderline hoodwinked. Or maybe I was just overly hungry... Anyway, the place is fine, if a little overpriced. 7500 yen would have been about right...
