A fantastic hotel with truly amazing staff. We have recently returned from our second holiday in this amazing place. From the minute we arrived we were absolutely blown away by the hotel. Traditional Austrian furniture, service levels are second to none, Christoph, the owner has a passion for the hotel, service levels, standards and total guest satisfaction. The food is high quality with an incredible selection at the buffet breakfast with a wide range to satisfy everyone. Evening meals are a personal choice from a menu that is ready for completion daily at breakfast. The standard and presentation of the evening meal is truly special from a highly talented chef and team with a quality selection of local wines available, really have the WOW factor! The rooms that we have stayed in had spectacular views of the lakes and mountains and, again everything was to a very high standard. The hotel is in walking distance of the town centre,bus station and the City Express cable car. It has terraces and other seating areas that allow panoramic views across the lake and mountains. This hotel is a great example of hospitality and service to the highest possible standards with a wonderful owner and team who are always available and happy to help. If you are looking to stay in Zell am See this is the place!

My wife, two teenage girls and I stayed at the hotel for 7 days in July 2025. The hotel is great - absolutely spotless, lovely food, flawlessly smooth service and the friendliest, most welcoming and genuine staff. The hotel is part of the summer card scheme, which is fantastic and made a massive difference to our time in the Salzburg region. The location is spot on - far enough away from the centre of Zell am See to be tranquil and close enough to be extremely convenient. The staff create such a lovely and relaxed atmosphere that rubs off on all the guests, making for a very congenial atmosphere. We had been worried about the lack of air con, but the temperature in our mountainside room was fine at night, even on the warmest days of our stay (28°C). I can't recommend Hotel Berner highly enough!

Christoph and his team really know how to make a difference. Meals, rooms, facilities and extras are all of the highest level. Still it is the people who make the difference.... Nothing is too much bother for the staff who are very attentive whilst a serene air of politeness and relaxation really makes you feel on holiday. A special shout out to Karin, a credit to the Hotel.
