Llansantffraed Court Hotel

Gorgeous house, with a fascinating history. We were shown round by Julia Johnson, the owner, who was generous with her time & stories. Fun fact: the house was used for the filming of the BBC's adaptation of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Narnia never feels far away.

Quirky old stately home! We went for a Christmas Fayre and it's the first time I'd been inside. There were some perilously narrow and wobbly stone steps leading up - I didn't see a ramp anywhere but it was pretty dark by then - to the big wooden front door, which opened into a large reception area, staircases either side, and a huge fireplace in the middle, which was merrily roaring away. They had stalls of craft stuff, comestibles, clothes, kids' toys and more, with singing entertainment, and I believe Santa was due a visit the next day! Lovely place, some wonky stairs and uneven floors aside, we'll worth a visit.

I wasn't visiting in a recreational capacity, but I was enthralled with this location. Just so beautiful and lots of history. I would love to go back when I have more time
