Llao Llao is a luxury hotel and considered the best in Bariloche. The rooms have been recently renovated and look good and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Rooms are sizeable but unfortunately the layout does not make the most efficient use of the space - if travelling with more than one suitcase you will find it difficult to open them both without blocking your way around the room; however, there is no shortage of cupboard space. There are a number of dining options at the hotel - the breakfast buffet offers numerous options, and there is a more casual menu in the lounge. We were advised by our guide that the restaurants for dinner were good but there were better options in town so we opted for the latter. The are numerous staff across the property and while friendly, they seemed somewhat stand-offish and many seemed to lack the warmth we experienced in other hotels during our travels across Argentina. The hotel offers a number of free activities (yoga, archery, walks etc) so do checkout the schedule. The hotel is at one end of the town and while we had no problem getting Ubers from the hotel, we struggled to get them back to the hotel. Having said that, the tranquil setting and views are worth it.
Llao Llao is, without doubt, a postcard come to life: mountains that seem painted by hand, lakes mirroring the sky, and an architectural gem that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. Everything looks flawless — until you start dealing with the staff. Sure, anyone can have a bad day. But here, from the very moment you walk in, the attitude is consistently rough, almost as if politeness was left at the door. For a hotel that prides itself on world-class prestige, the service feels shockingly ordinary.
After reading reviews we opted to not stay but rent a place closer to town. We did however make it a stop on our circuit. The reviews for poor service were not unwarranted. We had hoped to enjoy a coffee or a beer and take in the views. Maybe explore the grounds a bit and move on. We were met by a bellman who, thru an admitted language barrier, didn't want to let us in. Finally we were able to be seated and orders some drinks. Security eyeballed so hard we were not able to relelax and enjoy. After the most awkward coffee of my life we opted to pay. Thinking pesos would be easiest we quickly found ourselves your. It took 15 minutes and three servers to make change. I'd recommend skipping this and head to Punto Panoramico, then admire this beauty from afar.
