Loama Resort Maldives at Maamigili

We loved our stay at the over the ocean villa over here. They are beautifully built and have all the facilities one might look for. The staff was extremely courteous and would serve us with the most possible affection. There were less food options for vegetarians, however their pizza was amazing! Chef Ram helped us with his fancy Indian style dinner every night. They had various amenities and activities to keep guests occupied. They also offer free of cost snorkeling equipments.

Its wonderful and lovely place. The scene is magnificent. Hospitality is amazing. Recommended for couple. It is a relaxing and wonderful place with friendly staff around the island.

We returned to our over water villa after dinner to find that our bathroom door is locked by the room service. We had to call room service 6 times in 90 minutes and then run out to get hold of another person to request them to open the bathroom door. No one responded until we threatened to call the police on a remote island owned by the resort without any civil facilities. Our request to speak with the manager on the phone was denied by the reception. 2 humble supervisors visited us later and offered complementary dinner. They didn't provide any explanation and they didn't know why were they called over. This is not an isolated incident. Earlier during the day, we visited the sports center that is open until 5:00 pm everyday. Sports center was locked and requested the reception to open it. 2 guys came after 30 minutes to tell us that the time is 5:01 and sports center is closed and they will not issue the snorkeling equipment any more even though they were not there during the working hours of the sports center. When we explained that we have been waiting for them for 20-30 minutes, they reluctantly gave us the snorkeling equipment and they were extremely rude with the instructions threatening us several times that they may charge is 500 dollars if we step on any corral. While food services, our room and cleanliness is to be praised about, they almost ruined our evening. People spend thousands of dollars and several days to reach here and then pay several thousand to stay in this resort, Loama's customer service is very very dismal. We suggest Maldives tourists to find other resorts to stay.
