Lovely hotel - highly recommend! Clean, beautiful rooms with well stocked bathrooms, huge bath, plenty of towels and robes, firm but comfortable beds and an amazing view from the upstairs dining area. The only thing more amazing than the view was the breakfast... Seriously. Included in the room rate! Scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, pastries, cakes, biscuits, meats, yogurts, fruit and veg, pancakes, tea, coffee, fresh juice...! We filled up on breakfast so we didn’t need to stop for lunch. PS they aren’t kidding when they say there’s a lot of stairs - 80 or so - no issue for most but if you struggle to walk or take stairs, best to book elsewhere :) PPS located down what looks like an insignificant alleyway - if the alleyway runs from the front of ‘Hotel Ala’ you are in the right place! Walk down and look out on the right for the entrance :)
Location was great, right next to the ferry station, St.Giglio. within one mimuite of walk. Just take no.1 line, easy to go to many beautiful places from Rialto bridge,Academia gallery,St.Marco piazza to Biennale. Staffs were very friendly and helpful to carry up all the luggages up to the third floor since there is no elevator. View from the room was nice, I could enjoy the beautiful scene of St.Mazore Church and galleries with Venezia canal. Breakfast was also terrific, especially, home made style of grilled vegitables. I love to stay again in the future.
Nice people, good location, very nice breakfast. Wouldn't call it a 4 star hotel though. The finishes inside the room are pretty average and this was the smallest room of the four on our Italy trip. Our biggest surprise was when we asked if getting a small load of clothes laundered was possible. It was, but when we asked how much it cost they either didn't understand or didn't want to answer. When we checked out we found out why they didn't want to answer. One small load of laundry costs 107 euros! That's embarrassing.
