Remember it's not a hotel so nothing amazing. The room was ok. Bed was very firm, the bathroom was very small. But it was just a place to sleep nothing more so don't book expecting to have all the mod cons from a hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I appreciate that.
Absolutely disappointing – not worth the price To begin with, this is not a real hotel, yet they charge you as if it were one. There’s no proper reception – it only operates until 9 PM, which becomes a serious issue when things go wrong. For instance, the Wi-Fi didn’t work for 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed. We had to rely on our own mobile data, which was extremely frustrating. We even ran speed tests, and the connection was so bad it barely reached 0.27 Mbps – not even enough to send a basic WhatsApp message. We had to complain multiple times before they finally fixed it on the last day. That alone is unacceptable, especially considering how much they charge. The photos on Booking are completely misleading – clearly taken by a professional to hide the reality. What they don’t show is that the building is very old, dirty, and the elevator doesn’t reach all floors, so you have to carry your luggage up stairs. No one warns you about this. The bathroom is tiny, to the point that taking a proper shower is genuinely uncomfortable. And be careful if they offer you the “Classic” room – you’re basically sleeping on the roof of the building. What frustrates me the most is how expensive this accommodation is, while failing to deliver even the most basic services, like functioning internet. The only two positive things I can mention are the location, which is convenient, and that the cleaning service is decent. But beyond that, this place has a lot to improve, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
As an experienced traveler, I always do thorough research when choosing where to stay. I check maps, read reviews, and take extra care in selecting a place to stay, especially when traveling alone. For my one-night stay in the center of Rome, I booked Locanda Parlamento, but my experience here was far from what I expected. When I say I’m an experienced traveler, I mean that I know how to choose accommodations. I booked my stay at this property and received a confirmation. The hotel even reached out a few days prior to confirm my booking, provide maps, and share useful information, which initially gave me a good impression. However, when I arrived and was taken to my room, I was shocked. This is not a hotel—it's a room in an old, run-down building. It felt more like a place rented out by the hour, if you know what I mean. The building was dirty, and the room itself was in poor condition. The reception is only open before 9 pm, and after that, there’s no one available to assist you. While the staff was friendly and helpful initially, things took a turn when I needed help later in my stay. The room itself was uncomfortable, with broken AC, and the temperature was freezing. I tried to contact the staff, but the person supposed to respond was unavailable after 1 am. I had to sleep in a cold room. To make matters worse, I left food in my room to have for lunch, but when I returned, it was covered in ants. My bags were also full of ants. When I informed the receptionist, there was no apology or offer of help. Additionally, when I checked out, the key got stuck in the lock, and there was no one to assist me. I’m genuinely surprised by the positive reviews of this property. Perhaps it was just my bad luck with the room I was given, but I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here. In summary, my experience at Locanda Parlamento was disappointing, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable place to stay in Rome. I guess I should add any photos of the food covered in ants?
