A very nice spa resort. The staff couldn't be friendlier, the facilities were all clean and well maintained. Food was delicious and rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is simply incredible as well, magnificent views of the loch.
Just leaving after a 3 day break at this lovely hotel. The most genuinely friendly staff, so welcoming and can't do enough for you. Very dog friendly which we love! Minutes Walk to Town and gorgeous Spa. We will definitely be back xx special thanks to Niall, Tracy and Ross for making it a very memorable stay. Linda, Sam & Coe xxx
We found our room, located in a rather old-looking annex, too small and not worth the price. Apparently due to lack of space, there wasn't even a wardrobe. The bed was far too narrow, but the worst part was the completely worn-out mattress — very soft and sagging. Getting a restful night's sleep was out of the question. In both our room and that of our friends traveling with us, the toilet flush didn't work properly — barely any water came through. There was also no cleaning brush. Dinner was okay, but in our view, completely overpriced. Even a dollop of pepper sauce was charged at 4 pounds extra. The bar service in the evening was, let’s say, not particularly enthusiastic. When someone was around, the staff were friendly. My personal impression is that a hotel group has taken over an old building, fixed it up with minimal effort, and is now optimizing revenues and squeezing out every penny with strict cost-cutting measures. It's the opposite of a "family-run" hotel. We’ll give a second star for the truly excellent breakfast including service, but overall, the price-performance ratio was unacceptable, and the location is more show than substance. A pity for the beautiful surroundings and landscape — but from our subjective point of view, definitely not a recommendation.
