Loch Melfort Hotel

The 1st impression of the hotel as you drive up to it is not quite what we expected it's a bit gray but don't let that deter you. Once inside the hotel is bright/light and very nicely furnished. Our room was a good size with a balcony overlooking the loch and fields, where the hotel keeps it's own pet Highlands cows and 2 goats. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel was quite busy and we had to book a time for dinner. We had to wait a long time for our food to arrive. We later discovered the kitchen was having staffing problems. However the dinner was very good and well worth waiting for. Breakfast was a similar experience, again when our food did arrive it was one of the best cooked breakfast I have ever had. There is ample parking. The hotel is only 30 minutes from Oban situated in a fabulous location. When traveling to the Islands from Oban we will certainly stay here again. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at the end of our trip to Scotland. The lady on the reception and the breakfast staff were super-friendly. The view was spectacular. A great bonus was a field with many wild rabbits running around and the Scottish highland cows who are very well-behaved and cute. It is sad that we stayed there only 1 night. We will definitely be back when the weather is better to explore the garden nearby and the islands. Thank you for your hospitality!

Stopped for Tea & Cake.....and the view! Stunning gardens with some Highland Coos! We had Tea & the most delicious cakes. The staff were very friendly & happy to help. If we visit the area again we would stay here for sure.
