Logis Hôtel Le Parc de Geoffroy

A perfect stop on your way to or from Vichy. This is an adorable inn with an excellent restaurant and charming management. We came just for dinner (which wildly exceeded our expectations—especially the desserts), and spent the night to avoid the additional hour drive to Vichy (an important detail if you want to drink wine). In the morning a lovely breakfast served by friendly staff. My only advice is that is you are a couple-don’t take the twin bed ensemble unless you want to end up on the floor. Take the double bed.

The restaurant's chef is non plus ultra. A nice surprise. The dishes excellent, well balanced and very tasty, also a pleasure for your eyes. Friendly and competent personnel. The hotel rooms are nice situated in the small park of the Clos St. Eloi and connected by a covert walkway to the restaurant (nice when it rains).

Recommended to dine here. What a disaster! Had to prompt them to bring our drinks. We cancelled the wine order as it hadn't arrived by the time we were halfway through eating. The food, in a word diabolical. My very small portion of Char , which usually tastes somewhere between salmon and trout, was totally flavourless, overcooked and dry, it could have been anything. Other flavours on the plate were overpowering and didn't hang together. The best thing on my plate was beetroot . My partner had a very small portion of beef, nearly cold, very little flavour. Veg were barely warm. Altogether unsatisfactory. Poor food poorly served. No-one asked if the food was ok at any point. Incompetent staff doing a bad job, Billed for wine that we didn't have. The most disappointing meal that we have had for a long time. If we had read the reviews beforehand, we would have given this place a wide berth.
