Pretty hotel with a traditional and natural vibe. Lots of trees and some flowery plants around, with a calming view. There's a tennis court and a swimming pool—getting there through tidy steps with plants on both sides feels peaceful. No elevator, only stairs, but it's just three floors so still manageable. Breakfast is decent, not amazing but okay. Toilet sprayer was a bit too strong, and the bed was a bit firm and springy, but still fine. Bathtub was nice—my kids loved their bubble bath. Overall, a pleasant and relaxing stay.
‼️ The hotel entrance is impressive and exudes luxury and comfort. 🤩 Unfortunately, this raises certain expectations that are not met in any way. 😏 There is a nasty, musty smell in the room. The air conditioning works just enough to keep the temperature acceptable but does not remove moisture from the air. 😐 The double bed is made with a single duvet across. After calling reception three times, a double blanket was brought without a duvet cover. The staff nods to all your questions but does not understand anything of what you are asking. 😑 There is one towel per person in the shower and the bathroom is a mess, everything is covered in limescale and is almost falling apart. I had to repair the rain shower myself because more water flows around the head than out of the holes. 😟 The breakfast is very mediocre. 🙁 They also offer a laundry service… which is terribly expensive, even by European standards (€40,- voor plastic zak gekleurd en een zak voor wit). The laundry service around the corner is much cheaper. 😒 In the morning, I put up a "Please do not disturb" sign, after which the cleaning crew rings the doorbell to ask what time the room can be cleaned. 😤 In short, there’s room for quite some qualitative improvement!! I usually don't write bad reviews, but I just want to warn others ⛔️
Our experience at Loman Park Hotel was unfortunately far from satisfactory. While the hotel attempts to convey an old grandeur, it comes with an equally old, pervasive, and unhealthy odor, indicative of significant deferred maintenance. Upon entering our room, we were immediately hit by a strong, moldy smell, and the room's condition was severely dilapidated, featuring missing paintings, holes in walls, and a thoroughly mold-infested bathroom and air conditioning unit. Furthermore, the internet was poor, and the bed linen was damaged. Despite requesting a renovated room via Booking.com due to previous negative reviews, our assigned rooms were not ready upon arrival. When we finally received keys later that evening, the state of the rooms was alarming. Our attempt to cancel was met with an unhelpful front desk staff member who could not confirm a refund, requiring manager approval the following day. Given the late hour and our fatigue, we reluctantly stayed. The next morning, both we and our children woke up with headaches and a general feeling of malaise. The manager was unavailable for discussion before we left for our day. Upon our return that evening, there was still no update, nor was anyone available to address our concerns. We endured a second night, forced to turn off the air conditioning due to the sickening smell. At checkout, it became clear the manager had not even been informed by the previous night's staff, offering only apologies. The only redeeming qualities were the hotel's proximity to a good Hula Hoop center and a relatively extensive breakfast, which are the sole reasons for our two-star rating. We strongly advise against staying at this hotel. P.S. While I typically prefer to accompany my reviews with appealing photographs, my profound dissatisfaction with these two compromised days in Yokyakarta has led me to share them, with the intention of proactively warning future travelers about such concerning conditions.
