Incredible Stay at Long Beach Resort! We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Long Beach Resort on Koggala Beach! The location is truly spectacular - the breathtaking ocean views and direct beach access made our stay unforgettable. The beach itself is beautiful and serene, perfect for relaxation. Our room was fantastic with amazing views, and we thoroughly enjoyed dining at the resort restaurant where we had some delicious meals. What really made our stay special was the people - both the office staff and other guests were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We met some wonderful people during our time there, which added to the overall positive experience. Thank you to the entire team at Long Beach Resort for making our stay so memorable. We definitely enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a perfect beach getaway in Koggala! Highly recommended for: Beach lovers, couples, families, anyone seeking stunning ocean views and excellent hospitality.
We returned to Long Beach Resort after a great stay years ago, but things have gone downhill. Booking was messed up, and our request for three nearby ground-floor rooms was ignored — we got second-floor rooms, one far away. Out of the three rooms, the AC in two didn’t work properly. The place feels poorly maintained, elevators need repairs, and the atmosphere is dull with many empty rooms. The restaurant food was good, but the manager spoke to us unprofessionally, which made the stay worse.
Clearly, this hotel needs major renovations. The reception area is clean and the front is beautiful, but it's no good looking. I don't understand why it's still a 4-star hotel. The rooms are dirty, the sheets and towels are stained, the pillows are soggy from the damp, the air conditioning in room 201 is held by the door directly below, there's no light in the shower, and you have to open a blind that overlooks the beach, allowing others to see you (you have to be a bit of an exhibitionist, and that's what you need). The noise from the busy road, the distance from shops (6-7 km). For us, the only positive point was the pool. I definitely don't recommend going there. It's up to you.
