Lord Morgan Exclusive Design & Cihangir

We have stayed in Lord Morgan again at our second visit to Istanbul. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the tram or a 15 minute walk to Galatta, but in a very quiet street. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the room we booked was lovely. I know we will return to Istanbul in due course, and I know which Hotel I will book. Great place. The rooms were very clean. There is a private parking lot, right next to the hotel, which is a plus. The balcony was big and well decorated. Still, the hotel is quite tiny and the building is very old. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything going on around you - including the morning alarm of the person on the upper floor. Also, there is this general smell of cigarettes all over the hotel. The rooms are much, much smaller than they seem in the pictures. You enter the hotel through a cafe's back door and if you don't know there should be a hotel there, you will surely miss it. Hallways are tiny, elevator, as well. We were travelling with a 10 year old, which was well communicated in advance, still, no bed/sofa was made for the child. There were no sheets, pillows or blankets for her. The kitchen chairs were also almost broken. The kitchen was not well equipped - there was nothing to wash your dishes with or to hang them to dry. Since we were there for one night, so all of the above was OK, but you might want to consider it, for a longer stay.

Not a good hotel to stay in. Upon arrival my room was not ready, no towls and not cleaned and safe not functional. They also advertised on Bookings.com that there is a pool area and spa and this is not the case. They share a pool and spa facility with another hotel roughly 10-15 minutes away. There is also no breakfast room and you will have to eat breakfast in your room. 30 minutes after ordering
