Pros: You can't beat the location - it's central to everything. The apartment is also well equipped. Owner was polite. The church bells didn't bother us at all. Cons: There is no air-conditioning (only electric fans even though they lied/advertised that they have AC), which in 30-degree weather made it unbearable. We had to leave the windows open and all got eaten alive by mosquitoes because of the dumpster below. She also asked us to vacuum if we can when she came to give us the key. I'm your guest so no, you do the vacuuming. Bathroom is also old and needs upgrade.

Really beautiful apartment with amazing views and a very convenient location to explore Ghent. We're a family of 4 and the apartment is huge, especially by European standards. We booked in November, which is off season, so we were given a great rate as well. The beds were very comfortable, great furniture, fully stocked kitchen and having a washer/dryer was a bonus. The only reason that keeps me from rating it a 5 star is its proximity to the rail line and busy restaurant/bar area below. The rumbling of the train and the people enjoying the area did have its challenges which mostly died down after midnight. But, with great earplugs, we were fine when it was time to sleep. I definitely would recommend despite this because the positives make up for this.
