Los Altos Resort is absolutely stunning—an unforgettable escape that is completely worth it. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by breathtaking views, lush jungle, and luxurious amenities that made every moment special. The location is perfect, offering easy access to everything in Manuel Antonio while still feeling like a secluded paradise. What truly made our stay exceptional was the incredible staff—Sebastian and Andrey went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and cared for at every turn. Whether relaxing by the infinity pool, enjoying the delicious cuisine at Karola’s Restaurant, or taking in the gorgeous ocean views, everything about this resort was magical. We can’t recommend it enough!!!
If you are going to pay a lot, the expectations go up. From my experience, I would spend my money elsewhere. Our room had a backed up drain on the AC creating a pool we did not want. It was fixed quickly, but why was this not addressed by whoever cleaned the room? The glass shower door scrapped the tile so bad I thought it might break. The only shelf in the shower was ripped off the wall. Food was decent, but overpriced. Wait staff was mostly friendly, but missed a number of simple requests that required asking multiple times. I would have no issues with this normally, but for the prices my expectations were higher. We ended up going into town instead for meals and had more fun for much less $$. The private beach is false advertising. It is shared with another resort and by beach there is sand somewhere between the rocks. I would not swim here for fear of injury. It is a perfect place to see thousands of hermit crabs if that is appealing. Definitely not the luxury rest on a soft sand beach masked by false advertising.
***Disappointing Stay at Los Altos Resort – Falls Short of Hilton Standards*** My recent stay at Los Altos Resort, booked through Hilton Honors points, was unfortunately marred by significant issues regarding unexpected charges and exceptionally poor customer service. While the resort may have certain amenities, the overall experience was far from what one would expect from a Hilton-affiliated property. Upon check-in, we were informed of extra guest charges, presented in a misleading and confusing manner, which contradicted our understanding of the reservation. More concerning was the highly condescending demeanor of the front desk associate, Alex, when attempting to clarify these charges. His "choice of words" was not merely a language barrier issue but actively dismissive and disrespectful. This interaction alone severely impacted our initial impression. Despite repeated requests to speak with a manager to resolve the discrepancies and address the staff's conduct, no management was available or willing to intervene during our entire 2-night stay. This complete lack of managerial oversight and responsiveness in a critical customer service moment is unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to the standards typically upheld by Hilton. Furthermore, the claim of a pre-arrival email detailing these specific charges is disingenuous, as it went straight to my spam folder and wasn't disclosed upon booking through the Hilton website. This lack of transparency combined with the unprofessional handling of the situation at the front desk meant our concerns were never adequately addressed. Overall, this experience, particularly the condescending staff interaction and absent management, falls well short of Hilton's renowned service and hospitality standards. This situation has necessitated escalation to Hilton Corporate.
