Lufra Beachside Hotel

We booked a superior room with ocean view which was situated above the restaurant in the main building. The main building was a bit dated and it incorporated the restaurant and bars. Our room was very basic and had minimal furniture but it was clean. The drawcard is being able to hear the waves and see it from our room. The basic amenities like shampoo was there. The bathroom was clean and we didn't have too much The room does not have air conditioning and we were provided a small heater and electric blankets during our winter stay. Overall a relatively comfortable stay and ok price (for Saturday night) for the setting. I did see that there were some newer waterfront apartments which looked very nice. I wouldn't mind trying to stay at those at the next opportunity.

The staff were friendly and approachable, which made check-in and communication easy throughout our stay. However, the overall experience was held back by the outdated facilities. The room felt quite old, and instead of central heating, only a small mobile heater was provided, which struggled to warm the space adequately. The flow of hot water was very weak, making showers less comfortable, and there was no body wash supplied—just a small bar of soap. The bed was ok, but not especially comfortable; some of the springs didn’t respond well. Also, only two pillows were provided on a queen-sized bed, which felt a bit lacking compared to the usual four. The TV was around 24 inches and not a smart TV, which was disappointing for a hotel of this rating. Overall, while the service was warm, the hotel could really benefit from some modern upgrades to match the four-star label.

Magnificent location, friendly service however very disappointed with the menu. We were recommended to go there for the seafood. The seafood selection was oysters, which were delicious, and then flathead with slaw and chips. It was ok, minimal definitely for the price. Won’t recommend nor will we return sadly.
