LUX Grand Baie Resort & Residences

We had a lovely stay at LUX Grand Baie* – the location is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel’s modern design is both stylish and welcoming. The incredible sunsets each evening were truly breathtaking and made the setting feel even more special. The staff were warm and friendly, and the food throughout the resort was very good – the Japanese-style restaurant was a particular highlight. We also really enjoyed the wide range of complimentary water sports, which were a great bonus and perfect for both adults and kids. A special mention goes to our butler Kishan, who was fantastic. He went above and beyond to take care of every detail and made our stay feel completely effortless. The hotel also has great facilities, including a well-equipped gym, a relaxing spa, and a kids club, though we didn’t use the kids club much ourselves. The only downside was some inconsistency in restaurant service. On three occasions, our orders were forgotten when not placed immediately – this happened twice with coffee and once with my child’s meal. A little more attentiveness would make a big difference. Overall, LUX Grand Baie* is a stunning hotel in a fantastic location. With a few service improvements, it would be truly exceptional. Thanks to the amazing sunsets, fun water sports, and Kishan’s exceptional hospitality, we left with some wonderful memories.

We had a junior suit with an ocean view. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture is new and technologically equipped. Only i wish to have ironing in the room The service overall is the main issue. Despite they are being polite, we faced the following issues: 1- For the room service, you need to call them multiple times to finally get what you requested. 2- For the pool service, no one will come and take orders such as towels and drinks unless if you kept waving for a couple of minutes. This happened almost every day in our stay. Another situation is the waiter will tell you "one minute," and they do not show up again. This also happened several times. 3- Finally, the restaurants options are limited, and the prices overall are exaggerated compared to the food quality and the service. Finally, the location overall is good with proximity to some shopping malls. But if you enjoy a nice walk on foot, then perhaps this may not be the best option due to narrow unsafe streets around the facility Overall, it is an excellent and luxurious facility with less than optimal service. So if you don't mind slow service and not a big fan of walking around, then this place is ideal for you.

Let me start with the positive. The hotel is breathtaking in its architecture and interior design. The gym is well equipped and the staff there friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant is amazing although not part of the fully inclusive package you do get a supplement when dining there. The negatives were plenty. Our room was not made up two out of the six days we were there. Although management did respond we were woken early the next morning by housekeeping wanting to do the room. The amenities in the bathroom were empty on arrival and never replenished. The main restaurant, which is one of two eating areas available was a service disaster. On the night of our arrival we went to dinner at 7.30pm. We had a two year old with us and immediately ordered his food. At 9pm after four increasingly irate requests he got his food. We sat an hour before we got our first drinks and then not the wine we requested as it was not available. We quickly learnt to make use of self service and do without hot breakfasts and coffee. The hostess in the morning was rude and unhelpful. There is very little entertainment and certainly no activities for children so would not recommend for families. No vibe at the pool with music being played on and off over the week and service impossible to get during the day. A beautiful wet bar in the pool that was never manned. We had a week of very pleasant weather and created wonderful memories but the lack of service was a bit of a downer.
