Lypiatt House Hotel

Highly recommended. We had a great stay here, the room was well presented and clean, I loved having a bed made with blankets, first time I have slept all night in a hotel for years! great breakfast, helpful staff, quiet location close to town, ample parking. Loved it!

Really well situated hotel in Cheltenham in a gorgeous town house. Rooms were spacious as was bathroom. Was lovely to get to use the lounge area and the honesty bar was a nice touch. The breakfast room downstairs was a little soulless and choice limited, but it was ok. Would definitely stay again. However if you want a standard hotel experience it won't be for you as it's not manned by staff 24/7.

We had intended to stay a week - myself, my husband and our 5 year old and 5 month old daufhters. We booked the suite which is on the lower ground floor - this turned out to be 2 separate rooms which were not adjoined. They were separately accessible only via the corridor which was accessible to all guests and staff. We therefore could not leave our daughters alone in that room and they had to come into our room. The bathroom was also not in the room itself but only accessible via the shared corridor. Due to covid rules, the breakfast room (which is outside the suite) was not being used so luckily we had no one coming to that floor except staff. When we arrived, the whole floor smelt damp but we decided to stay anyway as we had come all the way. On day 2 the corridor flooded and we were told it was an ongoing issue. The bathroom was no longer accessible. The management were actually very helpful and did offer us alternate rooms but unfortunately they weren't big enough for our family of 4. We ended up getting a refund for the remaining nights and checking out. Good points: staff were very friendly, helpful and accessible. The other rooms we checked in the hotel were more modern and I can see why the hotel received excellent reviews based on them Bad points: the lower ground suite was outdated, damp and not very family friendly. It was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The flood explained the smell of that floor.
