Maakt Hotel & Apartments

The only negative here is that parking is a pain in this city, but that's not the hotel's fault. The hotel was perfectly fine.

It was such a nice stay at maakt hotel. The room was clean, breakfast (and especially the staff there) was pretty nice and the location between old town and train station is perfect. The room was big enough and quiet. WiFi was fast. We have asked for a room service for every day but was provided only once. It was also an interesting experience with check in desks instead of staff or 24/7 reception.

We recently stayed in room 121 for a few days. While the room was comfortable and cozy, it lacked blackout curtains, which was a minor inconvenience. Housekeeping only services the room and provides fresh towels every two or three days unless you specifically request it. There is a small card placed next to the TV that explains this policy, but it's not very noticeable. It might be more practical to place this information in the bathroom. We found ourselves needing to visit the reception to request new towels when we realized this. However, the most significant issue, and the reason I can only give three stars, is the location of room 121. It is situated directly next to the service elevator, which is in use well past 10:00 PM and starts again as early as 7:30 AM. The noise from the elevator is extremely disruptive, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It feels as though a truck is being unloaded right next to the room every couple of minutes. It's surprising that this room is even available to guests, especially considering the hotel didn't appear fully booked. For the price charged, I expected a more restful experience. This is not a place I would return to for a good night's sleep. When we raised this issue with the receptionist, we were told, "housekeeping needs to work." While I understand the need for housekeeping, this level of noise is unacceptable, especially at this price point. Even in a hostel, this wouldn't be tolerable.
