We stayed for 7 days in late August so we got a good sense of how this hotel operates during shoulder season. Check in was speedy. We got wrist bands as keys which is really much nicer than a key card and you don’t lose it. We paid for half board, buffet breakfast and dinner. The food is average. It isn’t top quality, but what saves it is the variety. For example, every night the chicken and meat dishes were dry, but the soup and salad offering gave you options of higher quality. The arroz con leche was delicious. Drinks are not included so if you only drink water o suggest bring your own. Even during low season the hotel is 80% families with small children. They even offer babysitting services so this must be a haven for parents. For a couple traveling though it wasn’t as quiet and relaxing as we would hope. The pools and buffet always had kids running around. The hallways too, so sleep with white noise on. We knew this is what the hotel goes for after reading other reviews so no complaints, that’s just how it is. I got one message during my stay and it was very mediocre. Therapist’s hands were dry and technique very average. Overall though, we had a good experience. The beds were very comfortable, the food abundant, and the pools very nice. The location is excellent as it’s super close to the Argentina border so going to Iguazú on that side is easy. There is a mall right in front of the hotel, very easy to walk to, for shopping and lunch.

It was great, but it could have been much better without the issues. Liked · We liked the staff, the location, the resort in general, specially the pools for adults and kids. Breakfast was good, but could be better if coffee was good. In fact, the coffee was terrible. We had a lot of issues at the beginning that were amended. I'll explain it better at "What didn't you like?" section. I'd like to commend specially Mr. Dalmar (Waiter) as he sorted out my bracelet issue that was deactivated, when it should be activated since the check-in and Michele Amanda (Guest Relations Supervisor) for providing us with some treats due the issues we had. Disliked · Mabu Thermas Grand Resort complaint list: 1. 50 minutes waiting in a cue for check-in (8 staff around doing nothing, 1 doing check out and only 1 doing check-in in a busy afternoon). Outrageous!; 2. There was no crib in the bedroom, that was confirmed beforehand that it'd have one; 3. I had to call hotel's landline to figure out reception's number. The QR code close to the phone led us to the WhatsApp and it took too long to figure out reception's number, so calling the landline was quicker. That was crazy!; 4. Shower was too hot and dangerous for us and specially for our 1 and half year old baby, and too cold (temperamental) at the same time - It happened around 4 times in a 10 minutes shower for all of us (4 = myself, partner, daughter and mother); 5. Air conditioning: a bit too cold + no remote control (I have to get up to change the temperature) + no blankets; 6. Coffee at the breakfast was too bad. It was awful; 7. Bracelet wasn't activated: when we were having a lunch at the first time in the hotel, we were going to get some beverages, but our NFC bracelets were not activated (3 of them), but I was told at the check-in they should be ready to be used. Detail, the restaurant we had this issue was located at the end of the resort, quite far from the reception, where we were recommended initially to go to resolve this issue. Thankfully, Mr. Dalmar sorted out our bracelets issue that were deactivated, when it should be activated since the check-in. 8. Last, but no least: the time wasted complaining. It is unacceptable that a hotel/resort with 4/5 stars had/having all these sort of issues. As a Brazilian living in Australia for 8 years, it is sad for me to see these issues happening. We need to attract more tourists, and not only from Brazil and South America, but all over the world and we need to show the best that we have. Kind regards, Guilherme
