Maceió Mar Hotel

Spent two weeks there for work. Great place. It is probably a 2 to 3 stars hotel when it comes to the rooms, but they are always clean and well kept. They have a great Northeastern Brazilian breakfast. I have not used their pool, but it was always packed. I used their gym, but it is really 'meh.' You're better off running outside and seeing people. Would surely go back, and if your goal is to stay in Maceió at a place from which you can visit the nearby Beaches, this is a great choice.

Nice views (not for all rooms though) and nice food as well. Halls could use a bit of decoration and room service could also be faster. Good location, and the hotel offers taxi trips to nearby cities and nice locations. Overall, a nice experince, though some minor flaws could use some work.

Disappointing for a highly rated hotel. Sea view room is good but it costs extra and my colleague who paid the same got a lousy ground floor room with a view of the car park (and loud bad music coming from the lobby). None of the staff speaks any English. Main lifts tend to break down, stop in between floors etc. Considered normal as nothing happens if you let reception know. Room key lock malfunctioning all the time. All small things perhaps but it really looks like the place has seen better days
