Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives The Centara Collection

My stay at Centara Maldives was absolutely divine! The room was beautifully designed and furnished, making it the perfect retreat. But the real highlight was the beach - crystal clear waters and pristine sand made it feel like heaven on earth. The resort had an amazing selection of restaurants, and I was particularly fond of the Thai and Italian options. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I also loved the variety of water sports and activities available, which added an exciting element to my stay. But what really drew me to this resort was the tranquil atmosphere, perfect for chilling, healing, and indulging in some luxury. The Indian Ocean air seemed to melt all my worries away! Overall, Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for a luxurious, relaxing getaway, this is the place to be!

We just came back from this paradise island and can happily say that there were so many outstanding moments during our stay, however, the things that stood out the most were the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the amazing quality and variety of the food across all 3 restaurants, the overall beauty of the island and finally the richness of the house reef! To note that whilst the arrival seaplane transfer wasn't timely booked following the last-minute change in our arrival date, however, the check-in staff at the resort (sorry didn't note his name) was very professional in making us feel welcomed and giving us all the information we needed to start our unforgettable holiday on this island. Our overwater villa was very nice and well equipped, and although it wasn't a sunset or sunrise room, however we could still spot a glimpse of the magical sunrise in the mornings. I would like to thank Amanualla for keeping our room clean and nicely decorated on our arrival and on my husband's birthday. The team at the diving center (Shakeeb and Yoki) were very helpful and organized, and with the weather being unpredictable during our stay, I thought they did an amazing job at managing the rescheduling of most excursions. The team who went with us on the boat during the excursions were also all amazing and you can tell how passionate they are about their work (I don't remember all their names, but honestly every singe one of them, including the captain, deserves a shout-out for the work they do). We happily used the professional photography service (sorry I didn't note the photographer's name). I highly recommend this experience because the photos turned out so beautiful! I can't wait to print them and enjoy looking at them every day! The Spa is a very beautiful and serene place. Jen did a great job explaining the different treatments to me and my therapist Dao made me feel very relaxed and in peace after her treatments! I wrote separate reviews for each restaurant, however I want to make a special mention here for the exceptional service of the following staff: the Teppanyaki chef, May and June at the Reef, Meaw at Suan Bua and Mery at Mare Azzurro along with their teams and chefs in the kitchen and behind the buffet. Every afternoon from 5pm we gathered around Coral bar to listen to Stephan; this became my favorite part of the day because he's an amazing singer and his singing gave a lovely ambiance to each evening. Coral bar was our meeting point every night after dinner to play some games or enjoy the evening entertainment with the most delicious cocktails made by Shafiq who was such a friendly person and was always happy to see us. Another special mention to Huhthu who managed the entertainment at Coral bar and kept everyone engaged with his positive and lively energy. During our stay it was clear to us that the management of this resort have customer satisfaction as their priority because we had several interactions with them that proved this, especially Shervin (the F&B manager) who we met several times and was always checking to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. A final thanks to the whole team at Centara Collection for their amazing service and for always being so smiley and helpful. I wish I could have given you all a big hug before I left!

From a Bumpy Start to a Truly Beautiful Honeymoon — Thank You to the Incredible Team 💖 We checked into Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Centara for our honeymoon, and although our stay began with an unexpected & unfortunate concern, what followed was nothing short of exceptional. I want to say this: the way the hotel handled it afterward was exceptional. After the incident, Mr. Nalin, the Resident Manager, personally stepped in and ensured we were taken care of in every possible way. His empathy, warmth, and professionalism truly turned things around for us. He didn’t just apologize — he made it his mission to restore our comfort, confidence, and joy during our stay. From the special honeymoon setup, thoughtful gestures, to the attentiveness of the entire staff — we truly felt cared for. And it’s rare to see that level of hospitality where a team doesn’t just “fix a problem” but goes beyond to make you feel valued and heard. Aside from that, the island is absolutely stunning. The villas are serene, the views breathtaking, and it’s a perfect place to fall in love all over again. While our experience had a rocky start, it ended with memories that we’ll cherish forever — all thanks to the heart and dedication of the management and staff. Thank you, Centara Machchafushi, for turning our honeymoon into something magical. We leave this island with smiles, gratitude, and a promise to return someday. 🌴❤️
