Best lido ever
We loved this holiday. These people made us feel like we were welcomed into a family. The quality of service is above and beyond excellent. Also they gave us good advice in terms of timing of the checkout etc. Overall we felt that they did care about us and they did pay attention to our preferences, it was awesome. The animation team is great. The animators would approach guests and invite to their activities, I thought it was awesome. This is how we learned about the children’s club. There are different animation activities throughout the day, we attended their children’s club, water aerobics, evening show, and loved them. Special thanks to Sofia, Elena and Greta from the animation team for the children’s club. Also, the person running water aerobics turned out to be a choreographer, maybe in the future she could also offer dance classes? Live music at the bar was very nice and unexpected plus. Evening shows were probably great but we did not understand much because they were in Italian. The service at the hotel is in Italian but it did not bother us because there were enough staff members who spoke English and Google Translate covered the rest. The food is somewhat limited in choice but most of the meals were super delicious. Each room has a designated lunch and dinner table, also a designated umbrella at the beach, very convenient. The beach is all sand, very well organized. The beach is well lit and seems to be monitored at night as well, based on what we saw, so it felt very safe. The whole village felt very safe. Check-in was super easy and convenient. We were in touch with the front desk during 24 hours before the check-in, this was so good. The front desk people were very helpful and accommodating. The transfer from the airport was very well organized and great. The transfer back was equally well organized. We were staying at the main hotel building on the top floor and the room was spacious and well functioning. High ceiling, good air conditioning, easy to operate safe. The things that we missed: Saturday-only check in and check out is a major inconvenience. No late check out policy is the same. I was willing to pay more to check out late but they were not interested. It would be nice to have a kettle and a coffee machine in the room. During peak times at lunch and dinner there were long lines to get food. Adding more people to serve food and more food stations at peak times would be nice. It would be nice to have a cappuccino at the dinner and lunch. Right now the espresso machine is just standing there idle. One has to walk to the bar building to get a cappuccino. Paying for the cappuccino would not be a problem, but relocating to a different building just for a cup of coffee is inconvenient. There is no bar at the swimming pool. There is no gift shop/convenience store Considering that Calabria had earthquakes in the past, I was looking for certificates of earthquake-resistant construction on the walls of the hotel but could not find any. If the hotel was built using earthquake-resistant technology, it would be good to prominently display those certificates everywhere. Overall: we will return to this resort, our holiday there was so wonderful and unforgettable.
