MAF Haarlem Boutique Hotel

This place is perfectly placed near the center of Haarlem. The room was as described and very pretty. The little critique that I have is that there is a door sign you can choose to put up if you want your bed made and towels changed out. I put this sign out and my towels were refreshed but the beds were kept unmade. Additionally the coffee packets were not restocked and coffee mugs not replaced with clean ones. Owner is extremely nice and accommodating!

Please read! I’ve worked here sadly, and honestly avoid this place. Worked there for not so long, like everyone else that has worked here. The owner is a terrible man who doesn’t care about the hotel itself. He always left new staff alone after 11:00, without giving them much notice or explanation and advice on anything. No one that starts here has much experience in the hotel business and is just excited to get this hotel thriving like it should be. That’s what gets you promised at least, and after about a month you realize you are working with a owner of a hotel who doesn’t even want to be there. And because of this it’s never clean, there’s never any staff, it looks like a building that still needs repairing the place up. There is no chef in the kitchen, the owner and staff make your breakfast in a kitchen that has mouse running around in it. There is no staff for guests behind the bar. And that with two amazing bars in this place. If you care about your health, the owner suggests new employees clean with a towel used by the last guest. So yeah the towels that are dirty on the floor he suggest and he does him self to use for cleaning. I would work here again just with a different owner. The place has plenty of potential that it will never see with a owner like this.

The main advantage of this hotel is its location, which is really close to the Centre of Haarlem. However while the rooms are unique bohemian style, the value for money is not ok as the rooms miss unfortunately some cleaning. Also the service was not really at the level the price of 200€ a room would lead you to expect.
