Magellan's The Golden Bridge

Extremely clean hotel with great food and best staff! The rooms are very well maintained. The warm food served at the hotel is wholesome. The staff is very cordial and super helpful. Even though Lachung has power cuts through the day sometimes for the entire day, the hotel staff manages the power supply through invertor and generator backup so well, it’s commendable. Special mention to Rabjeet who is extremely sweet and goes out of his way to make sure the guests are comfortable and their requirements are met. We were stuck in Lachung for two additional days due to landslides and the hotel staff did their very best in helping us with everything. Will surely recommend this stay to anyone visiting Lachung.

The hotel is very good. They are taking special care for guests. On our request, they specially prepared breakfast without onion. The staff is also very good. We got the room on road side and had a great view of waterfall right from our room. The river is also at a walking distance of 5 mins. Overall fantastic experience.

Lachung being remote and situated at a difficult terrain, even the basic amenities are a luxury here. For the unaccustomed, the star rating might feel unauthentic at the outset, but keeping the geography in hindsight, it's fairly understandable. The recent Dam breakage led to further power shortage in the region which made people sustain on limited electricity, hence room heaters weren't provided and it was communicated by the Manager. Extra blankets are provided on request. The rooms are basic and has all the necessary amenities to offer from hot water kettle to tea bags and toiletries, hot water is available in the bathroom, room service is promptly provided as well. We opted for the dinner and breakfast meal plans, it was fairly good and served hot buffets. The hotel does not have a lift and serves only Vegetarian food. The views from room aren't great but the valley and snow clad mountains can be seen. Might be slightly challenging for people with mobility issues and families traveling with toddlers. The stay wasn't luxurious but honoring the difficult life people have in Lachung, it was a fairly decent choice of accommodation.
