Magna Hotel and Suites

Cool place to relax, good food and nice supportive staff.

The hotel has an excellent location: across the street from Village Market mall that has plenty of good restaurants and a walk away from the United Nations. The rooms are huge, with a couch, a decent size working table, a fridge and kettle/tea station, a separate nook for suitcases and a closet, and the bed was very comfortable. It is quiet with no street noise. Breakfast was good and cooked in small batches, so it is always fresh. Fruits offered for breakfast were the best I have tried in Nairobi, and pineapple/papaya were the best I ever tried. It is a lovely, unpretentious hotel with clean, simple aesthetic, lots of greenery. The hotel staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The only real positives I can list are that the room appeared very clean, and that the location was pretty good - just across the street, by way of a parking garage, to the mall. The place is extremely loud, as you can hear every door in your vicinity slamming shut. The shower door leaked water all over the bathroom floor, the provided electric kettle was broken. I didn't interact much at all with the staff so I can't say they were a negative, but they also certainly were not a positive.
