This hotel was perfect for our weekend get away. We wanted a budget friendly stay with lots going on right around us. While the rooms were a little outdated, they were clean and well kept. We had a room on the 26th floor in mid July, so it seemed that it stayed a bit hot, even on the lowest temperature setting. Otherwise, we enjoyed the bed sheets and towels being switched daily, and a quiet floor with a pretty view. The staff was great, greeting us and opening the door any time we came or went. Valet was easy to navigate and quick to bring the car around. Overall, a great stay.

An iconic, historical downtown building and a beautiful hotel. The Magnolia is a great place to stay for couples or if travelling solo. The hotel offers great value and provides guests with a good overall experience. The deluxe queen room is nothing too fancy but it’s comfortable and cosy. During our stay the AC was always on inside which added to the comfort level (especially since we stayed in July). The location is amazing with easy access to many restaurants, the Akard rapid transit station and the AT&T Entertainment District right across the street. As an added bonus, if you are interested in the history of motor oil, it’s pretty cool to learn that this building used to be the Magnolia Petroleum company which eventually became Mobil Oil (look for the red Pegasus sitting atop the building). No breakfast or restaurant available at the hotel but I would recommend going to the Flying Horse Cafe which is a part of the building and accessible from the street level right beside the entrance. Some cool facts and posters inside showing the history of Mobil and Magnolia Petroleum as well. Overall a great experience. I would stay here again.

Architecture in this hotel is awesome it was built in the twenties...rooms have been refurbished but they still have some old features...the downtown traffic noise on the weekend was horrible even 22 stories up. Beds were clean but hard, and had to ask for towels twice. Staff was friendly and polite, especially the valet...they earned the 50 bucks per day they charge you for parking running off the homeless problem that was everywhere downtown...was here for a convention that's why I chose this location otherwise I would have stayed anywhere else but downtown. The hotel wasn't the problem...the location is!! But if you're there for a convention it's the best you're going to find that won't break the bank.
