We had a great experience here. The location was second to none, with a walkable distance to the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium. The hotel itself was extremely clean and modern, the breakfast and bar options great. But the best part about our stay was how friendly and welcoming the staff were to our pet. They even gave him a tennis ball and treats bag. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you!!
Beautiful and quaint, this 100-year old hotel has cozy rooms, excellent water pressure (even on the 15th floor!), and no shortage of hot water. The valet was courteous and timely. The living room area was nice, with comfy chairs, a pool table and shuffleboard table. They also had a silent dog adoption campaign going on when we stayed (July 28-20, 2025). Even more, this is a pet friendly hotel!! Will stay here again, and recommend to others!
We stayed for 2 nights. I will give this hotel the benefit of the doubt as it seemed they were having a bad or off week. So, I think 4 stars is appropriate even though our experience was more 3 stars. On the plus side, check in was easy and the room was ready when we arrived. The room we had was spacious and the bed is comfortable. The heating and cooling is quiet and effective. There were some minor issues around the edges such as trim on the bathroom fixtures was coming loose, the shower drain wasn't draining very well, and other fit and trim type issues. What I wasn't aware of is that this hotel caters to pet owners. All things being equal, that isn't usually an issue unless a lot of dog owners happen to be staying at the hotel at the time. It was a minor annoyance. The hotel restaurant inexplicably closed for a day and a half. Given the hotel's downtown location, it is a hassle to have to go find breakfast some place else or if you want to end the night with a treat. Although I knew this going in, the valet parking is $55 per night. It still stings. Lastly, a nearby room (or rooms) had their bathtubs re-glazed. This created an overpowering odor in our room on our second afternoon/evening akin to paint and glue. Truth be told, I don't know that I would stay here again. There are other hotels in downtown St. Louis with better amenities and greater reliability. However, the restaurant bar has good drinks and really good coffee and the rooms are fairly nice.
