Mahaloka Valley hosted us for 2 nights, wish we had planned many more... It was such a wonderful experience. The location, the staff, the food, all best in class. The rooms are cosy, rustic, minimalist and very comfortable. Location is just 10-12 minutes walk from crystal bay beach in a valley full of trees. Very immersive experience just to walk around the property and outside.
Very lovely place in an amazing location. The hotel is in a lush garden surrounded by Jungle and local people. We really enjoyed walking early in the morning to the close-by crystal bay and Padan beach and were accompanied by some very friendly dogs. Due to Nyepi we were the only ones staying there. The host is probably the friendliest and most forthcoming person we have met so far on Bali. Suggestion for improvement are that it could be a bit cleaner in the huts, especially the walls and ceilings, otherwise perfect.
The resort is absolutely beautiful. It’s tucked away in a jungle, offering you a peaceful quiet oasis. At the centre of the resort is an amazing pool with the perfect temperature. We were lucky enough to be in the pool to catch sight of some monkeys in the trees nearby. The owner is very caring and accommodating. They offer taxi transfers, ferry transfers and scooter rental services which is super helpful and reliable, considering how remote the island is. The bungalow villas are cool and clean. They are small but this is really not a problem. We found ourselves outside most of the time and the closeness inside the villas offer you a true Balinese experience. Lastly, I just want to say that although the roads leading to the resort are “broken” unpaved, this is universal to the entire island. Note this Balinese resort is indeed different to other conventional western resorts, and that’s the point! Would definitely recommend !
