Maikhao Palm Beach Resort SHA Plus

We had a wonderful stay at Maikhao Palm Beach. We stayed in a pool access room, which was massive and clean, with a large bathroom, a big bathtub and an excellent shower. The long swimming pool is fantastic. Although the hotel is in quite a remote location, it’s only a short walk from the hotel to the beach. The food was good overall. There weren’t many options at breakfast, but everything tasted lovely. The staff were all friendly. Some parts of the hotel could do with a bit of renovation.

This hotel offers a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere, particularly if you plan to spend most of your time within the hotel grounds. A car or bicycle would be beneficial for exploring the surrounding area, although it is not exceptionally well-maintained, with some abandoned buildings and limited attractions beyond the beachfront. The staff were generally pleasant, although communication could occasionally be challenging. The hotel's structure presents the greatest opportunity for improvement. Aside from the entrance and dining room, the hotel appears to require renovation. The gym, in particular, could benefit from significant upgrades; it lacked equipment, was dusty and dirty, and lacked towels and disinfectants. For a hotel described as "luxury," the maintenance and attention to detail in the facilities are noticeably lacking. While the room itself was clean, other areas of the hotel were not as well-maintained, including the private pool area. Considering the cost of our stay, I had hoped for a significantly better experience. I would not consider staying at this hotel again until improvements have been made.

Whole property looks as it has the best days behind, and running into retirement. I've checked into business hotels with a more defined and friendly check in (someone showing me the room is nice, but how about help with luggage?). Room needs some deep cleaning and TLC. Also room was sold as Deluxe Sea View, to see the sea you need a ladder. Should be advertised as pool bar roof view, luckily the property seems empty as no one is in the pool or the bar, otherwise tranquility would be out of order too. All in all not worth the money, if you need a place near the airport, there are for sure better options.
