While this hotel is a little dated, the rooms are well sized, have modernised wet areas and split system ACs to keep that Townsville heat to a manageable level. The location is superb with ample dining and drinking hole options at your doorstep. The staff are amazing, extending that good old customer service to ensure your stay is comfortable. Would stay again.

Fantastic Location! Pubs and restaurants directly outside and a short walk into the city. Gated parking onsite. I received a text message with codes to access front gate and key box. There is a button you can press on the intercom for entry within reception hours or once checked in you use your key to gain entry. My first night I was given an apartment on level 1 despite being told on the phone a few weeks prior that they would allocate a room high up as it’s quieter as I work remotely. The receptionist said she could not move me and to come back the next day. I suspect she couldn’t be bothered, she had put my keys in the after hours box even though I arrived an hour before reception closed. If you can avoid it, make sure you don’t have room 111. It was horrible. It smelt, there were stains on the curtains. The bed only had sheets so you have to add the doona which was folded on a shelf. Sometimes better not to see a bare doona with all the stains 🤢There was hair in the bed. The bathroom was set up for disabled - water went everywhere and soaked everything. I got woken up throughout the night from bottles from the brewery next door being emptied and people talking. The carpark light also shone directly into the bedroom. The next day, I was moved by a different receptionist who said they had plenty of rooms. She was very helpful and made sure I had a room that suited my wfh requirements. Level 8 overlooked the marina and was much nicer. It was passable clean, quiet, bedroom dark and good phone reception. The WiFi is also very fast. As my stay was over 7 nights, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the fridge stocked with full size butter, milk, cheese, bacon, juice and fruit! And a little welcome card accompanied a full size detergent and laundry detergent! I very much appreciated the food, I was told it was to help start a meal so you don’t have to go to the shops. I couldn’t really make a meal with bacon and cheese but I do think the idea is very thoughtful! Overall, I would recommend to stay here if you are on a work trip or relocating like I was. It is dated and I wouldn’t find it very nice for a holiday trip unless you are out all the time and just need it to sleep.

The location is central to restaurants and amenities. The rooms are quite tired and old. Cleanliness standards are at best average. The room we were staying is meant to receive full house keeping service once a week on fiesta and that was not even performed at all- despite us confirming with front desk staff. Our rubbish for about a week was not collected- so understandably that is very suboptimal, unhygienic and disappointing. After hours security staff are friendly and accommodating but not involved with routine operations/ service. I’d choose another facility if you are here for an extended period or for work.
